According to the American Academy of Pediatrics the prevalence of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is significantly higher among premature babies. Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is defined as a neurological and developmental disorder that affects how people interact with others, communicate, learn, and behave. In 2021, the CDC reported that approximately 1 in 44 children in the U.S. is diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD), according to 2018 data.
